Sow Seeds for Food Freedom
NOW through November 30, 2014

Donate and get your own "Lettuce Be Lunatic Farmers" seed packets!

Inspired by other Food Freedom organizations, like the Global Alliance for Seed Freedom, we encourage you to join others around the globe NOW to celebrate:

Seed Freedom and Food Freedom!

Here's how we're celebrating in the USA: #imalunaticfarmer

We're going to have the most massive, creative and impactful seed sow of all time! We've even got gift certificates for those of you that go above and beyond! Who said agtivism had to be boring?

Step 1: Help Fund, Get Seeds!

For every $5 you donate to the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, you'll receive a Lettuce Be Lunatic Farmers Food Freedom seed packet...and that's when the fun begins!

All seed packets were custom made by Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds and contain Rocky Top Heritage Lettuce Mix. This happens to be the perfect time of year to plant them! Lettuce grows best in cooler temperatures, like the spring and fall in most areas, and can even tolerate a light frost.

Step 2: Have Fun, Sow, Spread or Save Seeds

You can do a lot of good and have a lot of fun with even one pack of seeds!

* One will seed a pot * Two will seed a row * Three will seed a garden * Four will seed food freedom

Here's our Top 5 Uses for Food Freedom Seeds. What's yours?

  1. Be the hit of your next seed swap when you swagger in with these babes in hand! Sweet!
  2. Send a seed packet to your favorite inspector, legislator or politician with a note thanking them for their support of food freedom...even if they really haven't been supportive. Psych!
  3. Feed the stranded! Launch the first ever "Seed Packet Message in a (BPA-Free) Bottle", to somehow reach someone somewhere on a deserted island.
  4. Drop one in a new neighbor's mailbox with a note "Lettuce Be Friends". Awww...
  5. Stuff seed packets in a Christmas stocking, with the garden hoe or pitch fork of your choice. FTCLDF attorney advisory: we are not responsible for damages to stockings, mantlepieces or eyes.

Step 3: Enter Contest, Win Prize (Perhaps)

We're awarding THREE $50 FTCLDF gift certificates to these Lettuce Be Lunatic Farmers Food Freedom seed packet sowers:

  • Most prolific
  • Most creative/fun
  • Most impactful

Submissions must be received by November 30, 2014!

To take part in the contest, send us:

  • Your own Top 5 Uses for Food Freedom Seeds list, or
  • A description of what you dreamed up to sow the seeds of food freedom, or
  • A photo or video showing how you sow the seeds of food freedom

Note: Pictures and videos receive extra points and should include at least one "Lettuce Be Lunatic Farmers" seed packet.

Three ways to submit to the contest:

  1. Send to [email protected], or
  2. Post them to our Facebook page, or
  3. Upload media on the purchasing page

Check our Seed Freedom page or our Facebook page for the winners.

Take part in the fun; get your seeds now! Supplies are limited, and we're not just saying that.
