Your Donations to FTCLDF Make THE Difference
Here's How We Help

"I'm very proud of the difference the Farm-to-Consumer Legal

Bechard family with Gary Cox
Defense Fund has made in the lives of the farmers we've represented. We can't continue our good work without the support of so many dedicated, passionate members.

Please give whatever you can
to this glorious cause to ensure we continue to make a positive difference in how we produce and obtain our food."

Gary Cox, Esq.
General Counsel for FTCLDF

"A couple of years ago, one of our restaurant owner-chefs called me in a panic: 'The Health Department just threw out your eggs and said they were illegal.'

I asked him for the name of the inspector and the code violation, which he gave me over the phone. I immediately called FTCLDF and President Pete Kennedy answered the phone, took the information, and promptly contacted the health department.

Within 24 hours we had an apology from the health department and life returned to normal. How long do you think it would have taken me, as a dumb farmer buffoon (at least that's the way bureaucrats see us) to receive such a magnanimous retreat? Try . . . forever.

Here's to an FTCLDF as powerful as the NRA. Surely food is as important as bullets."

Peace, love and farming!

"Little did I know when I joined FTCLDF in 2007 that I would be calling the 800 hotline number just a few months later. After an erroneous stop-sale at an open market of raw milk and fresh eggs from our farm, FTCLDF's swift actions had our little dairy selling again the following weekend.

As farmers, we practice frugality in everything we do, but the assistance and expertise of FTCLDF is coverage that we can't afford to do without!"

"Upon receiving a Notice of Violation for
alleged zoning violations regarding our agricultural activity in a 'Lake Residential' district in 2009, I started researching laws, specifically the Michigan Right to Farm Act. After hundreds of hours of research and failed attempts to come up with a compromised resolution with Forsyth Township, I found and contacted the Farm-to-Cosumer Legal Defense Fund. Pete Kennedy was all ears and more than willing to offer help.

In less than a year, FTCLDF was able to assist us in a Right to Farm victory in November of 2012 to continue farming!

FTCLDF is a wonderful and necessary organization that is helping save family farms throughout the country!"

"We sell organic lettuce, and without the kind and generous help of FTCLDF, we would have literally been sprayed out of business by a neighbor.

It is only by the help we received from FTCLDF that Let Us Farm is still here.
With the help of Gary Cox, we were able to continue our organic business and reach an agreement with the neighbor about no future spraying.

Ourselves, and our customers, cannot ever thank FTCLDF enough."

"Preserving our right to farm, to connect the work of our hands, of our creator with those who truly respect the value of this healing energy in their lives, FTCLDF is the only reason why we are able to stand together as a food freedom/health freedom movement up in the north country of central and metro Minnesota!

Being able to talk to an expert in the area of raw milk statutes was a great help to me when the Minnesota Department of Agriculture came with a warrant to our farm on June 23, 2010. I spent much of the day explaining to the deputies that they are responsible for making sure that these 'invaders of my privacy' take no more of my liberties than is allowed by the warrant. This case is finally getting into court this week, and FTCLDF is supporting every dime of the cost to represent our food community in court.

Many times THANK YOU, to the FTCLDF team and the [Weston A. Price] Foundation that brought it to life. It's a lifesaver, rightsaver!"

"Without the FTCLDF we would never have been able to handle a defense against our township in our right-to-farm case. While it's not even close to over yet, Gary Cox is a pitbull, and we have every confidence that our case will be won, and our 5 allergic children will get to keep their pets and sources of safe, allergen-free foods like raw goats' milk and soy-free/corn-free eggs."

Hershberger
Hershberger Family "After representing myself for the first 6 months of our case and getting beaten up repeatedly by the State's lawyers, FTCLDF stepped in with Elizabeth Rich and also hired a criminal lawyer to help with the complicated charges, which in penalties as a whole totaled to 50+ years in jail and close to a million dollars in fines.

The lawyers worked tirelessly and relentlessly with great odds stacked against them, and by the time the trial was over, the jury acquitted me on 3 of the charges and I ended up with a small fine of $1,000 on the 4th count, which is under appeal as we speak. It is your donations that will enable the FTCLDF to continue doing such a great job in fighting for your farmers!
